"I'm begging you, begging you! come back to me!"- lyrics from 'On Bended Knees' by Boyz II Men

Hi all...

Still at it...

But here's what's gone on... my petition has now reached 157 signatures from California to as far as Australia!

Ever since that's happened every week I've been getting messages and such, that have been well... a mixed bag, people encouraging me to keeping going and others... not so much.

Really, I can't believe it, if this was their dog they would be doing the exact same thing I'm doing right now!

It's been a year, 5 months and 2 weeks since this whole thing started... I want my dog back, nothing else!

I won't give up until she's back with me where she belongs.

Another thing that I notice some people haven't concerned is how this is not only affecting me but also what all this has possibly done to Rudy. Dogs can experience stress and anxiety just like humans.

Read an article sometime ago and was shocked to learn that rescues and shelters are NOT inspected or regulated by the USDA like farms and commercial dog kennels. The only shelters I know of that are inspected are in the state of Georgia. All of these places SHOULD be because I'm finding out more and more there's people who pass themselves off as a rescue or no kill shelter and only get dogs(quite a few that come up missing or stolen) just to sell them for a fast buck or take donations to put in their personal bank accounts. Another thing is there's laws in various states that protect dogs but there are some places where laws aren't enforced or there are loopholes that let certain people get away with some things. I've talked with one person who helped a dog owner get her 2 huskies back after they were stolen and the dogs showed up out of the blue at some 'rescue'. As it turns out some rescues and shelters operate without a license! This has to stop!

I don't look at rescues and shelters the way I used to and I'm finding out more and more why people go to pet stores and breeders and that 'rescue' isn't all that it's cracked up to be with the exception of rescue organizations and shelters with good track records. Also there's several hoarding cases where people started out as a 'rescue' but were later shut down because the dogs and cats' living space was terrible. There's several cases of rescue hoarding and warehousing animals. I was surprised at how many people agree that rescues and shelters should be regulated.

I have to agree with this too, they should be inspected by the USDA like commercial kennels.

I'm not saying all rescues and shelters are bad but there are several out there that aren't legit.

Just came across this: "In 2007, 90% of pets that entered shelters in Sweden were returned to their owners within 24 hours, and almost all who were not were found adoptive homes."

California has something similar to this. If Sweden and California do this, other places should apply the same rules. After Hurricane Katrina, many dog owners had to file lawsuits against various rescues because they refused to return their dogs. That's messed up!

I recently found out two dog owners, one in Florida, the other in Canada both had their dogs taken by animal control and a rescue group.

Anyway public opinion played a major role and now both of these dogs are back with their rightful owners. Hopefully their cases and mine can be used as examples to help other people and their dogs.

I also came across a website on bullying and many of the symptoms experienced by bullying victims match the description of what I'm going through: stress, depression, anger, unable to focus and fatique. There's a whole laundry list of symptoms but those are the main ones I've experienced.

I also read about an ex-RSPCA employee in England who was a whistleblower after getting constantly hounded( no pun intended) by people from her former job, who called her a disgruntled former employee and a liar... this woman hung herself!

It was really sad, but I doubt the RSPCA will get away with it.

Anyway, I went out to one of the places where I had left 2 flyers, one of them was gone but the other was still taped to the streetlight where I left it. I think somebody tried to remove it but whoever it was didn't have any success. I left another one outside a local park.

Hopefully somebody will notice. If not I've got other plans in the works to help get the word out. Still, if all else fails then going to court will most likely be my last option.

A woman in New York sued a rescue who adopted out her cat. The cat had been stolen and ended up at a rescue later on.  She lost first time around but filed for an appeal and won!

Also, in many cases it's no surprise that a shelter or rescue takes in pets during crisis situations, in these cases the pet's owner still has rights to the dog or cat!

As always I'll continue to post updates about how progress is going.

Thank you all for your continued support. I really do appreciate it.
