Locations:
New Bangkok Academy: The school where Nelson and other drifter colony children attend. Due to lack of space and funding the school was designed to teach grades K through 12. There is a college of sorts that is off site from the main campus. The school is located in the uptown area of New Bangkok.

West Brook Road & Sycamore Avenue: Ashley and Nelson’s neighborhood, it’s a suburb of sorts located near a river that leads to the ocean. Despite most residents being of the working class, it is rather nice with tree lined streets and houses similar to that of modern 21st century design. Located uptown.

New Bangkok Natural History Museum & Library: One of the few places that houses fossils, artwork, books and such that was salvaged when Earth was evacuated. This is where Ashley works part time. The building is constructed from redwood and has windows made from glass that has been recycled. Solar panels on the roof provide electricity with backup generators located in the basement. Museum and library are located in the downtown area.

Nuts & Bolts Hardware store: Not much to say about this place, other than it’s a typical Mom-and-Pop hardware store. Due to the recent construction work, tools and other supplies are often placed on backorder. Located in the midtown district.
Sycamore Dog park: Located in a large field not far from Seagull Cove. Many resdients come here to allow their dogs to run and play. Zeta, Buster and Shadow and their owners visit this place from time to time. Park has a fenced in grass area and a marshland which allows dogs a chance to explore and swim in the clear water.

Foxtrot Wood: A large woodland area north of Seagull Cove and within walking distance of West Brook and Sycamore. The area is populated by wolves, black bears, deer, moose and foxes. The giant redwood trees, wild berry patch and nearby lake with a waterfall make it an ideal camping, hiking and fishing spot. Has a few cabins plus an orchard and vineyard ten miles west of the lake.
Seagull Cove: Similar to the beaches of Northern California, Seagull Cove is known for its tide pools, rock outcroppings and the river that leads directly to the ocean. Other trademarks are its deep blue water, being a place to spot local wildlife and the occasional whale migration. A small reef and nearby cave are worth looking at. The beach is often deserted during high tide and late at night.

Gaslamp outdoor theater: Located just offsite from the dog park, is the Gaslamp outdoor theater. It’s used throughout the year for various events including showing movies, plays and concerts. Those that attend a movie showing are often advised to bring their own chairs. Refreshments are typically available but for a fee and provided that nothing has sold out. Proceeds made from each event are then used to maintain the theater and keep it up and running.

Lemongrass café: Owned by Mura Phalin and her family, this café is one of the few places left that specializes in Thai and Chinese cuisine. Seating is usually limited which is often why most customers order take-out. Reasonable prices, excellent customer service and their fish with lemon sauce are just some of the things that keep this place open. It is no surprise that Cale & Co get take out here from time to time. Located across the street from the museum.

Olive Street Farmers market: Held year-round in the midtown district on Fridays and Saturdays, colony residents often come here looking for farm fresh produce and other goods. Those who set up shop every week generally offer a variety but prices vary if there’s a limit on certain fruits and vegetables. Nonetheless, it’s pleasant outdoor setting and the roasted corn stand are two reasons that people keep coming back every week.
Just some of the locations in my Titan A.E. story,  Somewhere Out There.

These places will be mentioned in the later parts of the story and will be the where many different adventures with the characters take place.

Stay tuned!
